30 Years of HM Racing

2020 marks HM Racing’s 30th anniversary, and, if, when I started the business in 1990, I had been able to foresee the winning of forty-odd British Championships and countless National and club titles, I would have settled for that. But with a lot of hard work, determination, investment in technology, a little luck, and of course the most amazing customers, we have achieved that.

However, we still have ambitions in the sport and it’s time to consider these.

We will be saying goodbye to Tony after nine years with HM Racing. Tony has got the break he deserves and is leaving us to join HRC looking after Álvaro Bautista in World Superbikes. We wish him every success and if he works as hard for HRC as he's worked with us, there will be no excuse for them not to be on the podium at every round!

If you have followed HM Racing over the years you will know that our primary focus has always been racing - oval track, off-road, and in recent decades, road racing. We have lived by our mantra “technology and not guesswork” and the results hopefully speak for themselves.

HM Racing have some exciting opportunities in the pipeline and to take that next step we need to reevaluate our priorities and resources and refocus our efforts on our core product - race development and support for our competition customers both large and small.

I am realistic enough to know that we cannot provide the level of service that we pride ourselves on, if we continue to offer our current broad spectrum of services. It's taken 30 years to gain our reputation and this will inevitably suffer if we spread ourselves too thinly, and we are unable to give everyone the time they expect and deserve. Something is going to have to give and I have come to the difficult decision to limit our workshop and dyno facilities to competition and development services only.  I know this will come as a blow to some of our loyal and enthusiastic road bike customers, and I sincerely apologise for this, but I hope you will all understand that we need to focus, and our focus going forward will be racing.

Our suspension services will remain unaffected, and Perry will continue to offer suspension and set-up services to road, off-road, and race.

With new beginnings comes a new look and HM Racing’s brand will be changing so expect a new website and a new look in the coming months.

We look forward to the shortened 2020 race season, working closer with TAG Racing in BSB, and all our supported teams and individuals.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to every single one of you who have been with us over the last thirty years. I can honestly say it's been a fantastic experience – we have met some wonderful people and together we've done some amazing things.

My sincerest thanks you to all.
