Rob McNealy finished his season in fine style scoring points in the BSB 1000 superstock race for the second time this year with an excellent 14th place after qualifying 27th. HM Racing provide engine, suspension and dyno services for Rob’s BMW S1000RR.
This was an impressive result for Rob McNealy as he was using his new Superstock S1000RR BMW in the Powerbike class having ridden his tuned Suzuki GSXR1000 for the majority of the series. Close races with Michael Neeves on a Powerbike BMW saw the pair finish only 0.27 secs and 0.17 secs apart in two of the races. Rob’s best time of the weekend was 47.948 recorded in the second race where he finished second to Neeves.
Rob would like to thank McNealy Brown (fairly obviously!), Park Lane BMW who have worked hard to make the switch from Suzuki as smooth as possible and William Meeks of Allsite Services for valuable help. Rob uses HM Racing for engine, suspension and dyno services.
Tim Cripps and Rob McNealy started the season in fantastic form at Brands Hatch at the weekend winning three races between them. Former schoolboy motocross rider Tim Cripps 47, in his first ever road race, and therefore competing in the Rookie class, rode to a steady 4th in his first race, won the second and followed up on Sunday with two solid second places. Most impressively he recorded a fastest lap of 51.242s.Tim rode a BMW S1000R and uses HM Racing for dyno and suspension services and runs a HM Quickshifter and an STM slipper clutch.
Rob McNealy continued the progress he showed in 2010, his first season, moving up to being a genuine contender in the Superstock and Powerbike classes. Rob won two Superstock 1000 races and recorded 2 third places and a fourth in the Powerbikes, leading them all at one point. Rob’s fastest lap was 49.5s. Rob’s Powerbike GSXR1000, sponsored by McNealy-Brown runs an STM slipper clutch and HM Quickshifter and uses HM Racing for engine, dyno and suspension services for both classes.
Supermoto’s Rob McNealy switched to tarmac this year and finished 2nd in the Bemsee Clubman 1000 Championship aboard his McNealy Brown Suzuki GSXR1000. Rob uses HM Racing for engine, dyno and suspension services along with STM slipper clutches and HM Quickshifters. Well done this year Rob, we are already preparing next year’s bike!
Rob McNealy had a fantastic weekend at Lydden, finishing fifth overall in the ‘Lord of Lydden’ event on his Supermoto bike! Giving away well over a hundred b.h.p. to the opposition, Rob rode his Husky Sport / McNealy Brown 530cc Husqvarna in spectacular style to record a fine third and two second places in the Thunderbike class to compliment his fine ‘Lord of Lydden’ result.
Rob was able to exploit the poor weather conditions using his Supermoto experience to make up for the fact he was riding a bike almost half the capacity, producing a third of the power of some of his competitors. Probably the most impressive statistic of the day was the fact that during the final leg of the Lord of Lydden, Rob’s best lap time of 47.69s was only 1.08s slower than Steve Mercer’s 46.507!
Steve Smith of HM Racing said “It has taken a long time to develop the 530 Husky that we have done in conjunction with Vaughn and Rob. The bike started life as a carburated 450, that we have converted to fuel injection along with the capacity increase to 530cc and an offset cylinder. 2009 has been a frustrating year for Rob, with reliability issues costing him results in Supermoto. We appreciate Team McNealy’s perseverance and are pleased to see the bike perform to the level we were targeting.”
Report by Husky Sport Team Manager Vaughan McNealy HM Racing tuned riders Rob McNealy (Husky Sport Husqvarna) and George Clements (TRM Honda) occupied the top two podium steps in the expert class at the latest round of the Southern Supermoto Championships held at Lydd Raceway over the weekend.
With George taking two wins on Saturday and Rob three wins on Sunday, a clean HM Racing sweep was only prevented by Rob picking up a puncture with a lap to go whilst leading race one on Saturday. (HM Racing don’t do tires but if they did we probably wouldn’t get punctures!).
With George and Rob currently placed 4th and 6th respectively in the British Supermoto 450 Championship with one round remaining and confirmation that for the second year running George has been selected to represent Great Britain in the under 21 Supermoto des Nations team, HM Racing are still providing continued success within Supermoto for engine, suspension and dyno services, along with STM clutches and HMiis products.
Rob Mac winning at Lydd, and below his entry in the Graham Noyce look-alike competition!
George Clemments and Rob McNealy had a superb start to the season with an overall 1-2 at Lydd on Sunday. They both use HM Racing for engine tuning, dyno set up, suspension tuning, STM slipper clutches, HMiis ignition systems and HMiis quickshifters. George rides for the TRM team aboard a CRF450 Honda. This was George’s first full meeting on his HM Racing tuned bike. He recorded 2 wins and a third place for the overall win.
Rob McNealy rides for the Husky Sport team and is supported by McNealy Brown. Rob had 3 second places for 2nd overall.
