Racing News Rob McNealy Powerbike Champion

Category: HM Racing News

This was an impressive result for Rob as he was using his new Superstock S1000RR BMW in the Powerbike class having ridden his tuned Suzuki GSXR1000 for the majority of the series. Close races with Michael Neeves on a Powerbike BMW saw the pair finish only 0.27 secs and 0.17 secs apart in two of the races. Rob’s best time of the weekend was 47.948 recorded in the second race where he finished second to Neeves.

Rob would like to thank McNealy Brown (fairly obviously!), Park Lane BMW who have worked hard to make the switch from Suzuki as smooth as possible and William Meeks of Allsite Services for valuable help. Rob uses HM Racing for engine, suspension and dyno services.

Racing News Rob McNealy flies at Lydden!

Category: HM Racing News

Rob McNealy had a fantastic weekend at Lydden, finishing fifth overall in the ‘Lord of Lydden’ event on his Supermoto bike!
Giving away well over a hundred b.h.p. to the opposition, Rob rode his Husky Sport / McNealy Brown 530cc Husqvarna in spectacular style to record a fine third and two second places in the Thunderbike class to compliment his fine ‘Lord of Lydden’ result.

Rob McNealy

Not the usual style round Paddock for Rob!

Rob was able to exploit the poor weather conditions using his Supermoto experience to make up for the fact he was riding a bike almost half the capacity, producing a third of the power of some of his competitors. Probably the most impressive statistic of the day was the fact that during the final leg of the Lord of Lydden, Rob’s best lap time of 47.69s was only 1.08s slower than Steve Mercer’s 46.507!

Steve Smith of HM Racing said “It has taken a long time to develop the 530 Husky that we have done in conjunction with Vaughn and Rob. The bike started life as a carburated 450, that we have converted to fuel injection along with the capacity increase to 530cc and an offset cylinder. 2009 has been a frustrating year for Rob, with reliability issues costing him results in Supermoto. We appreciate Team McNealy’s perseverance and are pleased to see the bike perform to the level we were targeting.”
