HMR's history in Supermotard dates right back to 1994, when Jeremy McWilliams ran a modified Perry Leask Motocross bike at the Guidon D'or. Jeremy finished in the top ten and since then HMR have stayed involved in 'motard via Irishman Paul McMinn.
For 2002, Warren Steele, Paul McMinn, Ex Superbike champ Dave Heal, Kevin Reed, Ian Cherry, Adam Lewis and HMR's own Perry Leask are all HMR powered.

HM Racing has invested heavily to ensure that they are at the leading edge of UK engine builders. Facilities include:
Dynojet 250 rolling road inertia / eddy current dynamometer - Dynojet dynos have become the industry standard for testing racing motorcycles, giving extreme repeatability from a simple mechanical design.
Balanced Dyno Cell - Often overlooked the dyno cell is the key to repeatable results. HM Racing’s professionally constructed unit has matched cooling and extraction fans and the ability to “trim” to maintain consistent barometric pressure.
Sun exhaust gas analyser - The four-gas machine examines content of Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Hydrocarbons, Oxygen and therefore air/fuel ratio.
PI Research data acquisition system - Dyno testing conditions are captured using data recording. Facilities to record water temp, oil temp, exhaust gas temp, wheel speed, engine speed, throttle position. Derived channels may be configured to examine such things as clutch slip. All traces can be displayed against time or distance.
Leak down efficiency testing - Check for sealing losses and evaluate performance loss over time.
Quadrant Scientific Cam Doctor - Accurate measurement of cam profiles, valve velocity, acceleration and lobe phasing. Also examines "quirk" and "jerk".
Mira and Serdi valve seat cutting equipment - Both systems use form tools to produce accurate multi angle valve seat profiles.
Digital valve spring testing - Verification of spring specification and measurement after service period.
Comprehensive measurement facilities - All relevant engineering and specialised engine building measurement facilities.
Machine and fabrication shop - Turning, milling, drilling, honing, pressing, blast cleaning, MIG and TIG welding.
The workshops at HM Racing are extremely secure, protected by a NACOSS approved monitored alarm system of the highest standard.
